I realized

What is happening? Today for the first time it really occurred to me how far down the slope of disaster the youth of our nation has fallen. I have never seen or heard such a sad display before. They had no regards for anyone else. They felt so high and mighty about themselves that they honestly felt everyone WANTED to hear every offensive add-in comment they had to say. Rediculous. These kids are only in middle school. Hardly even old enough to be considered teens. Their classmates, kids their own age or younger, were on stage bearing their souls for all to see and judge and all these kids can do is heckle and talk during their acts.
Do they know how hard it is to get on stage and put yourself at the mercy of a crowd? Of course they do. They don't care though. They can hide behind their insults and disrespect. When society judges them everyday they are so ignorant that they simply say, "I don't care what other people think." They know they are harmful, they know they are nasty. They don't care. Thankfully there are still enough kids left today who are brave enough to take chances. They took the stage and tried their hardest. Some succeeded with flying colors while others simply had fun. Either way, they did something I know none of their peers will ever be able to do. The kids who took the stage have self-worth. They will bring every good quality they have to the future and will save us all. As for the rest, they will never know what it is to have courage and take a chance. Beneath their strong, cold outsides they have shattered insides. They know they are not worth much...and this is devastating. Let's all hope that these children who have no hope in themselves do not discourage those who are not afraid to take center stage before they have their chance to shine. My outlook is poor, but hopefully I will be proven wrong.
